I Love Ugly feat on Hypebeast

Posted in Uncategorized by deadlyserious on October 29, 2012

As part of a university assignment, Valentin Ozich once summed up his personal style in three words — I love ugly. The phrase stuck and eventually served as the inspiration for his New Zealand-based clothing line and retailer, which Ozich currently runs with co-founder Barnaby Marshall. Thankfully, the label’s collections are a little more aesthetically pleasing than its moniker suggests — the garments are well-conceived, wearable basics with a twist. For Fall/Winter 2012, I Love Ugly‘s product offerings are a timely blend of both seasonal and year-round pieces. Included among them are an array of speckled T-shirts, a floral button-down, cardigan, and a new iteration of I Love Ugly’s signature Zespy pants. With a parka for the coldest winter days and a host of accessories rounding out the collection, the label offers a complete range of stylish additions for one’s wardrobe. Taken from

I Love Ugly have not been resting on their laurels. Recently they produced several new styles of 5 panel caps constructed of rare hard to find vintage / dead stock fabrics mixed with premium suedes and leather. However upon receipt of the new production they realised the final 5 panel cap fit was not to their high standard fit. Back out they went to search for more fabric and re produce to their utmost highest quality. This is the result of their effort and hard work.

Deadly Serious X i love ugly

We are proud here at Deadly Serious to announce the partnership with the amazing brand I LOVE UGLY. We are happy to be working with such a creatively talented bunch who’s ethos and hard work reflects the same aspirations of Deadly Serious.

I Love Ugly is a small team of friends with synchronized aspirations. Born January 26th, 2008 it stood out amongst its peers. “I love ugly” was an ironic title which designer Valentin Ozich felt suited his character. ‘One mans trash is another mans treasure,’ what one may think is beautiful another may regard as “ugly.” Taking pride in ones differences and stylistic preference is the philosophy, which Valentin felt the need to embed in the brand and name of the label.

“We put design into everything from garments, products, fit-outs, furniture, packaging, and our own custom brand scent to the promotion and marketing of our products and business systems.  We try to innovate in every aspect of our company.”

Upcoming products: Parker jackets, dead stock / vintage fabric 5 panel caps, Watch 2.0, our debut shoe (high top suede exterior with leather lining and pig skin interior – highest quality shoe our factory could possibly make- no expense spared)+ innovative custom industrially designed shoe box and much more.

The Quiet Life recently released a super limited Camera Club t shirt featuring the ‘Pug Life’ photo taken by the very talented photographer @jayzzed. The Quiet Life t shirt was exclusive to both & @jayzzed’s Camera club t was limited in small numbers and sold out as soon as it hit the stores. @jayzzed quotes on his Instagram page ‘Product of the 70’s. I am a skateboarder, a photo capturer, a lover of dogs, life, and candy. My pics are a mix of cameras. Pics are mine unless otherwise noted. Dig it.’

Quiet Life has just recently re released the Camera club t shirt on their own web store for Northern America only, we are sure they wont be around for long. Check out some more of @jayzzed‘s photography here, and hope that his Camera club t shirt gets a global re release for Spring / Summer 13.
